Disability Insurance

The first thing I want to talk about is how people can get away with being on disability and not having to work. Now I realize this does not apply to everyone who is collecting disability insurance but I can personally tell you of a number of people who are collecting who are perfectly able to work. One person I know gets disability because she has post traumatic stress disorder from a bad marriage. Now I have been in a bad marriage yet I don't collect. This same woman works almost full time in a fairly laborious job. She gets paid under the table. Another person I know has fibromyalgia and can't work so she collects disability. This disability does not prevent her from partying almost every night, shopping or gardening. Just working. What is up with this? We complain about our deficit and all the money we are losing in social security, we complain about the drain on our welfare system yet we do nothing about people collecting money so they can stay home and not have to work when they are perfectly able?
